Nautilus Woodcraft Workshop

Meet Nathan Fosness

South Carolina-based Nathan Fosness fuses grit with creative flair in a journey that echoes a classic mixtape of raw talent and reinvention. From electrifying club DJ sets to guiding diving enthusiasts in the warm waters of the Atlantic, Nathan's life has been a non-stop remix of bold experiences. Throughout his journey, he developed a deep appreciation for woodcraft and began designing and fabricating pieces for friends and family.

After the success of Infinite Descent, a thriving diving shop in Madeira Beach, the demand for his custom woodcraft services increased dramatically. Motivated by a desire to collaborate creatively with clients and build a community to share his expertise, he decided to focus full-time and launch Nautilus Woodcraft.

From US Navy service to the vibrant pulse of nightlife, and finally to the craft of custom furniture, Nathan's journey resonates with those who value authenticity and connection. At Nautilus Woodcraft, every creation reflects the hard-won wisdom of a life lived boldly, inviting you to join a legacy of creativity and lasting community spirit.

Our Philosophy

We believe custom furniture should be both sculptural and reliable. Beautiful design means nothing if timelines slip or installation fails. Professional processes mean nothing if the craftsmanship disappoints.

Reliability

Firm timelines, professional documentation, and consistent communication from consultation through installation.

Partnership

We work alongside homeowners, commercial clients, and designers to solve problems, preserve design intent, and deliver thoughtful results.

Precision

Every piece is built to spec with clear drawings, material samples when useful, and careful delivery planning.

Our Process

01

Initial Consultation

We discuss your project requirements, timeline, and budget, whether the piece is for a home, commercial space, or designer-led interior.

02

Shop Drawings & Samples

Detailed drawings and material samples are provided for client approval before fabrication begins. This ensures alignment on design intent and materials.

03

Fabrication

Your piece is crafted in our Seneca workshop with regular progress updates. Typical fabrication timeline is 6-8 weeks depending on complexity.

04

Finishing

Hand-applied finishes are carefully cured and inspected. We use natural oils, waxes, and professional-grade finishes appropriate to each piece.

05

Delivery & Placement

Delivery and final placement are coordinated from the workshop to the intended space, with planned assembly handled on site when needed.
